"Americans deserve more jobs and more take home pay. "
Mitt Romney will create the jobs needed for the American people. Through a 5 Point Plan, Americans will receieve 12 million jobs. The Plan:
1. Energy Independence
-decreasing dependency on foreign oil will get the energy and manufacturing industries going again here in America and creat 4 million jobs within the energy and industrial industries.
2. The Skills to Succeed
-giving students the skills they need to work in the competitive job market
-providing each student with higher education and teachers, currently unemployed workers will be matched with real jobs that have openings because they will have the skills they need to succeed
3. Trade that Works for America
-opening up trade with Latin America provides a better world trade market and allows Latin American companies to invest in America by bringing their companies here and hiring Americans
4. Cut the Deficit
-balancing the budget will help lower the national debt
-people will have money to spend in the economy which will in turn help get the economy going
5. Champion Small Business
-currently 54% of small businesses are being taxed as individuals
-small businesses have been crushed in the last four years because of taxes
-lowering the tax rates, deductions and exemptions on small businesses will give American small businesses more money to work with
-more people will get paid and spend that money to get the economy back on track
OBAMA ISN'T WORKING for AMERICA:
Obama's Numbers for the past four years are not what this country needs.
Current unemployment rates have skyrocketed since 2009 and have only start to lower below 8% since October 2012.
Mitt's Job Plan Position Paper:
Currently, the United States is in a recession, the economy is not growing and families are losing money. The United States needs more jobs. Within the last four years, the unemployment rate has gone up to 7.8% as of October 8, 2012. Household income has lowered by 5%, as well as the amount of income families’ produce. There are currently more than 6.4 million people living in poverty in the United States and 46% more people are now food stamp recipients (factcheck.org/Obama’s Numbers). The economy needs to take off in order for debts to be paid and pay checks to be written. Then only way this can happen is through job creation. Once jobs are created and people are employed, they can be paid. Paychecks can lead to putting money into the stock market, college funds, or buying a car. Paychecks can also help more and more families to stop receiving food stamps and welfare money and to start paying off mortgages and debts. Jobs are the key to rebuilding America. Both the Democratic and Republican parties put job creation as one of their main priorities in the election and for the future of America. The Obama Administration and the White House have a plan to create more jobs for America. That plan includes eliminating tax breaks to companies that outsource jobs overseas, help make college affordable by doubling the Pell Grant funding and reforming federal student loans, make the middle class tax cuts permanent, and training two million workers for jobs that already exist by allying community colleges and employers. President Obama wants to out-educate, out-innovate, and out-build the United States’ global competition (Obama for America/For All: Jobs and the Economy). I, Mitt Romney, will respond to the call of the American people’s needs. I am proposing a five point plan that will get the country back on track to success economically and amongst families. The five points are to achieve energy independence, open up trade particularly in Latin America, give students the skills they need in school to work in a competitive job market, balance the budget, and champion small businesses. Most if not all of these points will lead to job creation for the American people (Mitt Romney for President). Getting America energy independent will lead to four million jobs being created. These jobs will not just be created in the energy industry but the manufacturing industry as well will benefit from lower energy costs (Mitt Romney for President). Giving students the skills they need to compete in the job market is also a must. By providing better schools and higher education to America and better retain programs, that will help match currently unemployed workers with real job opportunities in the market (Mitt Romney for President). Opening up trade in Latin America will allow the world trade market to expand, but also Latin American companies will invest in America and hire American workers. Also by balancing the budget, the national debt will be controlled so that America can remain a place where small businesses will want to open and hire people. If more business open because of a balance budget, people will have more money to spend in the economy and on the small businesses. Finally, championing small businesses in America. Small businesses create jobs for the people and right now new small business starts ups are at a 30-year low. Small business is the key to getting people the jobs they need and to get the economy back on track for a brighter America (CPD). If taxes and regulations are too tough on small business then the entire industry will collapse. That is why I plan to lower the tax rates and deductions and exemptions on job creation. Once we get the rates down, lower deductions and exemptions, job opportunities in small businesses will flourish. As I said at the Presidential Debate, “...small business pays that individual rate [of taxes]; 54 percent of America's workers work in businesses that are taxed not at the corporate tax rate, but at the individual tax rate. And if we lower that rate, they will be able to hire more people.” (CPD). That gets more people being paid, earning money and paying their taxes. Currently we have 23 million people out of work or who have stopped looking for work (CPD). In order to get us back on track, we also need to stop the increases in regulation for job creators (Mitt Romney for President). I believe that once the job market is back on track the budget will be balanced and the economy will start to grow again. That is how I plan to get the country back on track and create 12 million new jobs (CPD). Before President Obama took office in January of 2009, 4.5 million jobs were lost. When he took office and up until February of 2010, another 4.3 million jobs were lost (Obama’s Numbers). It is also stated that the unemployment rate has gone up to 7.8% as of October 8, 2012 (factcheck.org/Obama’s Numbers). It should be mentioned too that the United States government counts a person as “employed” if they are working one hour of every week and being paid for it (Clifton, 19). My opponent has already invested $90 billion into green energy. Except that that $90 billion dollars could have been spent to hire 2 million new teachers, rather than invest in solar and wind power companies that later went out of business (CPD). President Obama has had the last four years to turn America around. this second term is not supposed to be a chance at redemption because he should not need to redeem himself. It is obvious that my opponent’s policies have not worked for America, 47 million people on food stamps, 7.8% of people unemployed. America needed jobs in January of 2009. It is now October of 2012 and we still need jobs. Obama had his chance at getting America back on track and it didn’t work.
